Some insight on the life of a Massive Monkee

Breakin'

Win or lose, at every event when the competition is done, I make sure to get wasted. Here is one such moment.

We used to break in socks, it was a 90s thing like headspin helmets. This picture came out of a shoebox in Iron Mike Brysen's closet.

coosh Approved

The last scene with the armbar routine was my favorite part. We did real breakin, an original Massive Monkees routine we pioneered but it was funny with the ongoing spins by Lazy. I was dyin with that one. All the others were sorta funny, but when they get old... Man. Plus that script was my idea so I like it better. I use the coosh on every plane trip I take whether I'm battling or headed to the beach life in Hawaii. Traveling is not too active but it stayed on when I got up to go to the bathroom. I haven't been running or jumping with it but we already saw it could do that. The bass could be better, we need some low end because I keep it bumpin. That's my style. I can't help it I love music even if it deafens me.

Flavored Out

This weekend was crazy! First off Friday I ended up going out... got pretty smashed. Saturday was real easy like I said it would be. We just did our thing and flavored it out and performed well. We didn't do so good Sunday though because we lost!! We won the first battle against a German crew. But the second battle we just basically smoked our selves. Meaning we didn't perform to our potential because we didn't execute our choreography perfectly and we didn't have much time to do solos. We messed up on some parts and we had people fighting to get on the floor. Just didn't look like we had it in the bag. So I understand why we lost. But afterwards we got to battle Zulu Kings outside on the concrete! It started because Tim and Floor Phantom (Zulu Kings) had a battle the day before and for some reason and it wasn't finished. It started out being a Tim vs Floor Phantom and Papa Smurf (Zulu Kings) battle. But it quickly escalated to full crew ish. That was dope, and we are all on good terms afterwards. Just gotta let that out and show people how ill you really are you know? If other people think you're ill too, then you get respect. Peace to Zulu Kings and respect.

Faded. Win, Lose or Draw.

I can't wait for this battle. I've been waiting for this weekend for months. I know the first day of the comp is going to be easy. All we need to do is qualify and do what we do best. Day two wont be as easy. It will be four battles (to the finals) and it'll be a lot of waiting around as usual. I think there's gonna be a lot of hard crews out there; you have your Skill Methodz crew (one of my favorites), Killafornia, Zulu Kings (defending champs), Knuckle Headz, etc... Some pretty hard crews out there. I hope we make it at least to the finals. This weekend will be pretty much hard work and play afterwards. Win, lose, or draw I'm getting faded on Sunday even if I have to wake up early for work the next day after my early flight back to Seattle! Super!
