A Q&A with Ana Banana Freeze of the Massive Monkees

coosh: If you weren't dancing, what would you be doing with your life?

Ana Banana Freeze: I would be a DJ. Mixing and a little scratching, trying to stick to records and staying away from Serato for as long as I can.

coosh: What's the best trip you ever went on with your crew?

Ana Banana Freeze: Freestyle Session 7 (2003) was the best crew trip, I think. We were all young and hungry, with a lot to prove to the world. I think it was the strongest bonding experience with the largest amount of people from the crew as well. That was probably our strongest moment as a family. Even though we placed 2nd, we were on top of the world.

coosh: What's your all-time favorite moment as a Massive Monkee member?

Ana Banana Freeze: Freestyle Session 7 (2003).

coosh: Who's your favorite b-boy/b-girl?

Ana Banana Freeze: It's hard to say. Beta was my favorite b-girl for the longest time. After you meet and befriend your idols, you see how human they are and it's hard to put them back up onto their pedestal.

coosh: What makes MM different from other crews?

Ana Banana Freeze: We are family-based, but just like any other family we have problems, we sometimes hate each other, yet we would do anything for each other. It's a real family.
