JEROMESKEE

A Q&A with Jeromeskee of the Massive Monkees

coosh: If you weren't dancing, what would you be doing with your life?

Jeromeskee: I would probably be playing professional soccer or having a 9 to 5 job day dreaming about the stuff I'm doing now, traveling, competing, doing shows worldwide, teaching, sharing, and experiencing one-of-a-kind moments.

coosh: What's your all-time favorite moment as a Massive Monkee member?

Jeromeskee: There are so many moments; my all time favorite moment as a MM member would have to be winning the world championships. Winning national and international titles as a team, traveling to exotic countries, touring our theatre show in the U.S., and meeting incredible people throughout the world is a close second. But really the moments that count are the times that we trained all day, hanging out, celebrating and having fun together.

coosh: What's your biggest accomplishment in dance?

Jeromeskee: My biggest accomplishment is using this dance as a vehicle to understand more about people, life and myself.

coosh: Do you feel naked without your coosh? Why or why not?

Jeromeskee: When I rock my coosh, it really stays on and feels good. Now I'm not saying it because they sponsor me, but in reality the product works. I can wear it all day without even feeling it in my ear.

coosh: Define your style as a b-boy/b-girl.

Jeromeskee: My style is the Monkee dance style, I steady rock it and drop this vicious style in a massive way making everyone go bananas!

What are the other Massive Monkees saying about Jeromeskee?

"Very very icy! He really makes things look so cool. His toprocks, his footwork, and just his style in general looks like he has diamond studs on his body. He's like a boy bandleader but dances way better." Granite Rok

"The most determined. Jerome is the poster boy for self-determination. If he puts his mind to it, it happens. I haven't seen Granite's place, but I think he might have the best interior-decorating skills out of all the guys." Ana Banana Freeze

"Brad Pitt in Asian form. And will smoke anybody in footwork." Tim The Pit

"He's the movie star. His character embodies him as someone of great importance." Twixx

"The hardest working dude in the crew. Always ready to go." Iron Mike Brysen

I do work with Creative Recreation shoes, and travel the world getting shots wearing them.

A production still from the Way of the Bboy with my two main teachers FeverOne and Lil Lep.

Uniquely Us

I've done individual commercial work but with the Crew all there the stress of production was much easier. It became a good time. Acting out our inside jokes made the videos something that was uniquely "us." And finally we're sponsored, our prayers have been answered! No seriously, we are athletes but we have to do a bit more on the creative tip so having a brand that allowed us to do us, by our rules and standards - that's a real prayer answered. They were open to our ideas and the results came out phenomenal. I keep the coosh headset on me all the time when I travel, its used on a daily basis at home; I talk on the phone with it too. I don't wear it when I'm all out dancing but I need it when I train. I hide the cords under my shirt and can do all my workouts without even remembering that it's on. The product is totally solid, I mean you've seen, we tested it!
